President

A Founding Member of FRIP, Ammar strongly believes in the importance of medical awareness in the general population. As head of FRIP For Education, he helped a fledging FRIP reach out to various institutions in the city and across the country. Ammar served as our Treasurer from 2013 to 2015. His interests lie in Trauma and Acute Care. He is a fan of English football and follows his favorite team routinely.

Vice President

Haris joined FRIP in June 2014 as an instructor and served as the FRIP Level 1 coordinator from March 2015 till December 2015. He has played an integral part in designing and developing policies for FRIP and also work for the FRIP Research and Development department. He is the founding editor of Medical Students Diaries, a blog, and is Assistant Editor-in-Chief at the Elective Medicine Journal. He plans to pursue Critical Care Medicine.

Rabia joined FRIP in June 2015 and has since then been involved in outreach programmes. She is passionate about disaster management, traveling and world history. An aspiring trauma surgeon, Rabia is motivated to improve primary healthcare in Pakistan and make it accessible to all.

Zartaj joined FRIP in January 2014, as an instructor and has been part of many Level 1, out reach and Education workshops since then. She enjoys conducting workshops for schools, to spread awareness of first response among teachers and students and help improve the safety standards within schools.

FRIP’s Treasurer and an active instructor at several of FRIP’s workshops and programs, Faizan loves to teach children in an entertaining manner, learning new languages and hopes to see FRIP go beyond borders.

Director, Research & Development

Currently a Research Fellow in Vascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Umer joined FRIP in February 2014. He has since then helped FRIP move to electronic tablet-based testing, conducted research studies and quality improvement measures on our teaching and training materials, and has helped develop a new website for FRIP. He likes working in his garden and plans to pursue Vascular Surgery.

Meeshal joined frip in 2015 and has since conducted multiple workshops- Outreach and Level 1s alike. Her interests lie in Family Medicine and Dermatology. She’s a sports enthusiast and loves playing basketball.

Level 2 Coordinator

Joining FRIP in March 2016, Jehanzeb immediately found that the stage was his happy place. Actively taking part in many workshops, he realized that empowering others to  be able to speak to masses was as satisfying as teaching people directly. As the present Level 2 coordinator, he strives to enable each and every First Responder to overcome their stage fright and equip them with the art of communication so that they may reach out to masses and teach them life saving skills. With this aim he hopes to see a safer Pakistan soon. With the time spent in FRIP, Jehanzeb has acquired an inclination towards Emergency and Trauma medicine.

Publications and Media Coordinator

Maheen joined FRIP in 2015 after a longstanding passion for trauma care and disaster management. She has since then conducted various workshops for FRIP Outreach. With a penchant for words, she is actively involved in publication projects for FRIP and is editor of the Newsletter and FRIP Archives. She is an aspiring trauma physician and hopes to make a difference in the primary healthcare system of Pakistan. Her interests lie in reading, spoken word and food.

Education Coordinator

Hareem joined FRIP in 2015 and has been actively involved in many FRIP projects since. She enjoys teaching and FRIP has given her a platform to practice that along with her medical studies. Her interests lie in neurosurgery and preventive medicine. She’s a movie buff and loves food.

Butool joined FRIP in 2013 as an Instructor and member of Research & Development. She has started a project within FRIP to train administrative and security personnel at various places of worship in Karachi. She enjoys binge-watching travel documentaries.

Sohaib joined frip in 2014 and has volunteered in many school workshops, teaching children the basic safety and first aid skills through FRIP’s platform. He has also been an active volunteer in several outreach projects. Sohaib became FRIP’s Education Coordinator in 2016. He hopes to spread FRIP’s message as far as possible.

Aatera Haq started her FRIP ride in 2014 as an instructor. She served as the  Level 1 coordinator from December 2015 to December 2016, managing and organizing Level 1 workshops on monthly basis. She enjoys instructing and is keen to pass on the basic first aid knowledge especially to the general population. Her career aim is inclined strongly towards becoming a competent surgeon. She craves cooking, as a way of distraction and relief, when stressed.

Mariam joined FRIP in 2016 and has been presenting and demonstrating in various workshops since then. Having spent her school and high school years actively participating in co-curriculars, internships and volunteer work; Mariam has developed a love for meeting new people and helping them. FRIP has given her a chance to get back to it amidst her university years too by teaching people about saving lives. She enjoys FRIP for Education and FRIP Outreach projects the most and wishes to contribute to those. Her interests lie in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She’s a true foodie and loves music.

Saib joined FRIP in 2016 with immense zeal to teach and impart the knowledge of First Response he had to the masses. He currently holds the most experience with out-reach workshops in Interior Sindh and it is through these that he has developed a profound insight on and a mutual understanding with the people of these areas. His fondness for developing interpersonal ties with the people around him is an asset for FRIP. He aims to specialize in Neuro-trauma and Critical Care. He loves to express himself through his guitar, the mellow blog he maintains and is a self-proclaimed tv shows fanatic.

Saad joined FRIP in 2016, and has been an active member of both Level 1 and Outreach workshops. He also handles the graphical designing aspect of Media and Publications. He has a keen interest in Surgery aswell as Trauma care. He is a natural and landscape loving photographer. His free spirited soul yearns for travelling and adventures; an obsession that is matched only by his love for DOTA2.
